Total Sulfur Analysis in Base Oils Samples - ASTM D7183

ASTM Method D7183 describes the determination of sulfur in aromatic hydrocarbons and other related chemicals. The concentration range for this method is 0.5 to 10 mg/kg and samples can be either directly injected or placed in a boat for combustion and analysis. Base oils are a common type of sample tested using ASTM Method D7183 as the most commonly used base oils have less than 0.03% sulfur.
