Over the past twenty five years I have worked with numerous analytical instruments in many aspects including developing methods for the U.S.EPA, applications, product development and currently managing the organic departments of an environmental laboratory. Continually EST has provided me with the tools to succeed in every area, namely purge and trap analysis. EST has a strong reputation with our company, and we have phased out many other instruments to replace them with EST products. Most recently I became a huge fan of the Centurion autosampler, with it's outstanding performance, user friendly software and reliability. I want to personally thank EST for providing exceptional quality in their products, technical support and sales staff.
EST is the vendor we turn to when looking for volatile purge and trap instrumentation, having almost completely phased out all other manufacturers. The Encon concentrators have been very reliable, and the design is ideal when there is a need for maintenance. The Centurion autosamplers have been a revelation! They have dramatically increased the productivity of our GC/MS systems and we have had little to no downtime since we installed them. They are less expensive and far more reliable than the Archons. Innovation is also a key for EST, as they continue to look for ways to improve their instruments. We are looking forward to adding both the new Evolution concentrators and the new Soil Centurions to our lab as capital purchases in the coming year.
On the service side, the PTS service personnel are great to work with. They are knowledgeable on all of the products, quick to resolve problems, and easy to get in touch with. There have been several times I have called late in the day or even on a Saturday to find that someone is still there answering the phones and willing to help out. Their training also is excellent. We had them out for a week to go over maintenance and troubleshooting of their equipment for my volatile group and it was the best money we’ve ever spent. Now we rarely need to place a service call as the analysts, together with PTS inside service, are able to diagnose and fix most routine problems.
Quality, value, and service are what set them apart from their competition. For my money, EST and PTS are the best in business when looking for products and support for your volatiles instrumentation needs.
